Numbered 79-104, this series was continuous with the previous Moomin series and in fact is considered part of that series, making them together the third Moomin series. This series is, however, is neither as well directed, as insightful, nor as close to the mood of the original Moomin books as the series which came before it which has everything to recommend it: a fantastic soundtrack, good directing and fine animation.
