About : Gregory Norman Cruz is a Los Angeles-based actor with an extensive background in motion picture, television and theater. Cruz's lead, guest-star, co-star, and recurring roles for television include episodes on Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, The Pretender, Judging Amy, MDs, X-Files, NYPD Blue, Criminal Mind, and In Plain Sight. He's performed in the HBO shows Tecumseh and Vietnam War Story, and played the serial killer Richard Ramirez in Manhunt: Search for the Nightstalker. Cruz's theater background is vast and includes main-stage productions with El Teatro Campesino, The Taper Too, The Berkeley Repertory Theater and The Denver Center Theater Company. In New York, he created the role of Knuckles in the theatrical production of Noah's Archives at the Ohio Theater. He was also a founding member and has done extensive work with the Friends & Artists Theater Ensemble in Los Angeles, receiving a Drama-Logue Award for his performance as MacHeath in their production of The Three Penny Opera. Before becoming an actor, Cruz worked in hospitals and restaurants, mopped floors and sandblasted walls. He was a telemarketer, a bouncer, a PBX operator, a lobster tank cleaner and an emergency room secretary. For many years, Cruz worked as a Pilates (Contrology) Instructor. Cruzs interest in progressive athletics lead him to a degree in Karate and to explore Pilates.
